Worksheets are helpful for human cell line authentication to determine if STR genotypes from cell line samples are related. These worksheets can be used to perform a search for similar STR genotypes using the Cellosaurus STR Similarity Search Tool (CLASTR) or compare STR genotypes from an internal database of test results.
The following protocol has been written as a resource for the research community on this topic and includes worksheet templates as supplementary information:
Korch CT, Capes-Davis A, Shen C (2026) Analytical Workflow for Determining the Authenticity of Human Cell Lines and Tissue Samples by Short Tandem Repeat (STR) Genotype Analysis. Current Protocols; in press.
The following worksheets and information come from the published protocol and are available through the ICLAC website and / or the journal website. These resources were last updated on 7 August 2026.

- Appendix 2 – ICLAC Human STR Genotype Comparison Tool (Excel macro-enabled worksheet) – please note that this worksheet is currently only available from the journal website

These worksheets all use match criteria for STR genotype comparison from a Standard for human cell line authentication. To cite the match criteria from the Standard or learn more, please refer to:
